What are GLEs?

• Grade Level Expectations
• Developed by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education
• Specify skills that students should master at each grade level within each content area
• MAP tests in grades 3-8 in Communication Arts, Math, and Science are based on the GLEs for each grade.

What are CLEs?

• Course Level Expectations
• Also developed by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education
• Specify skills that students should master within each course (English, Math, and Science) at the high school level
• End-of-course exams will be based on the CLEs for each course when they are administered beginning in the spring of 2009.
