West Plains Missouri is known for being centrally located in the Missouri Ozarks region which includes Norfork Lake, North Fork River, Bull Shoals Lake, Jack's Fork River, Current River and more. The district is considered progressive in its rural setting which includes forested countryside and spring fed rivers. The Ozark Mountain Range lends a spectacularly scenic backdrop to the lush green trees and are admired by all who are fortunate enough to live here.
The school district is made up primarily of one high school WPHS), one middle school (WPMS) and two elementary schools (South Fork Elementary and West Plains Elementary) There is also a career center( SCCC ) which provides a quality technical education for secondary and adult learners.
