West Plains High School Beta Club Members Attended a Leadership Conference
Sixty-eight students from high schoolsacross the state, as well as Illinois, gathered at the Shoe Factory Lofts inWest Plains for a weekend leadership conference. The Beta Leadership Conferencehelps prepare students to become leaders in their schools and in theircommunities.
The students met for 4 differentsessions that were filled with fun, educational activities including an empathydinner to promote empathy and awareness for others. Students were given"disabilities" that they had to keep throughout the meal ranging fromblindness, muteness, and physical disabilities. The students and sponsors alsoattended a MSU Grizzly basketball game.
Each student also brought hygiene items to donate to the Boys and GirlsClub. West Plains High School had six Betas attend the conference as well theBeta Club sponsors, Mrs. Tracie Joiner and Mrs. Melanie Martin. The Beta Clubwill attend the State Convention in March at Branson, Missouri
