High School Transition Education Program Benefits from Donorschoose.org
Students in Mrs. Doss' high school transition education program are benefiting from a grant through donorschoose.org. Donorschoose.org is an online charity which gives teachers across the country the opportunity to post projects for the viewing of potential donors.
Through the donations of educators, community members, and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation; the grant was fully funded by August 23, 2014. The Transition Education program was awarded photography equipment and props that totaled nearly $1400.00. The items the classroom received were 12 digital cameras, SD cards, backdrops, props, photo paper, photo printer, additional printer ink, photo video studio, and more.
The students are utilizing the photography equipment for service learning projects, literacy skills, social skills, and a photography club.
