Justin Frazier Named West Plains High School Head Boys Soccer Coach
West Plains Schools is pleased to announce Justin Frazier has been named the new head boys’ soccer coach at the West Plains High School. Frazier will assume the head coach position as of July 1st, 2017.
Frazier has served under head soccer coach Nick Schmitt as the assistant boy’s soccer coach since 2010 and is the Environmental Services Supervisor at the Howell County Health Department. Frazier was named the 2014 Assistant Coach of the Year by the Missouri State High School Soccer Coaches Association.
Schmitt resigned to take on the role as Williow Springs Assistant Principal for the 2017-2018 school year. Schmitt has been the head Zizzer Soccer Coach since 1997 and has led his teams to District Championships in 2000 and 2006, with a MSHSAA Class 2 final four appearance in 2006. His teams were also district runners up in 1998, 1999, and 2014.
West Plains School District Activities Director, Greg Simpkins, says, “Frazier’s love for the game and his care and concern for the players adds to West Plains’ tradition of success both on the field and in the classroom. Frazier will be a great addition to the head coaching staff at West Plains.”
“I am thrilled and excited about the opportunity to be the head soccer coach at West Plains Schools. Having been the assistant since 2010 and a 1999 WPHS graduate, I am very much aware of the history, tradition and success of the athletics program and admire the district’s commitment to ensuring the educational success of their student athletes. I am ready to start preparations for the upcoming season,” states Frazier.
